Building Better Healthcare Award (extract)
Forbo Nairn wins Ecological Product of the Year for the Healthcare Industry
Scottish company Forbo Nairn Ltd has fought off UK wide competition to become the winner of the Ecological Product of the Year in the Healthcare industry. The award, presented by the Building Better Healthcare judges, recognises manufacturers of products for the healthcare industry that demonstrate a lead and commitment to the Environment.

“This is a tremendous honour for us,” said Managing Director Angus Fotheringhame. “The fact that we were picked from a whole spectrum of products used in hospitals and other health care facilities makes this award even more special. This is not recognising us just against our peers, but against any item used in this environment.”

The awards, now in their 10th anniversary year, were held in London at the Brewery where 500 architects, designers, NHS trusts and product manufacturers were represented.

“A lot of our own customers were present at the ceremony,” said Karen Norris External Relations Exec. at Forbo. “And I think they are as delighted with us getting the award as we are.”

The judging panel included Susan Francis, special Advisor for Health, Beatrice Fraenkel, Chairman of Merseycare, Kevin Oxley Ops. Chairman of Health and Facilities Management Association, Ed Matthews, Research Fellow for Patient Safety and Jane Priestman OBE Hon. Fellow of RIBA.
